Journey back to 1958 and be a part of the studio audience for the live broadcast on fictitious WJKS radio as it channels the spirits of the founding fathers of rock n’ roll into a great evening of music. Local favorites Craig Evans, Brad Tucker, Brian Sulser, George Garrett, Jim Wark, BJ Kocen and Aimee Richardson Sulser take the audience on a musical journey with memorable songs from the Titans of Teen Town: Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, The Everly Brothers and Ricky Nelson. The Jubilee includes 1950s’ period advertisements, skits and lots of laughs and surprises. You won’t want to miss this cavalcade of cool!
The Jubilee started in the Spring of 2009 – or the Summer of 1954, take your pick! The tribute show began as an idea of George’s to get a chance to get together and play music we all loved, and try to get it as close as we could to the original records. Craig & Brad came in as vocalists and rhythm guitarists, Jim & Brian join Geo as the backing band, including background vocalists. BJ wandered in for the Fall show in 2009, first as an irate preacher and next as the radio station manager for WJKS – Where Joy Kills Sorrow. Aimee joined our “boys club” in 2015 as “scream queen” Lana Lynngraven, and, has subsequently become a perennial favorite in our show.
We’re always happy bring “Joy” to your private party and/or festive occasion!
